If a child is thriving, everyone’s thriving.

That’s why sponsorship matters so much to me!  When you sponsor a child through World Vision, you're not only personally showing God’s love to a child in need, you’re also investing in a proven way to help that child and their community stand tall, free from poverty.

Here's my story...

Hello!  My name is Stacey Moore, and I’d like to tell you a bit more about why I chose to become a Child Ambassador with World Vision.  Sponsorship is a very special part of my life.  I first sponsored with World Vision probably 20 years ago, and I absolutely loved it!  The first little girl that I sponsored was in Honduras.  And God used that experience to give me a real heart to be a part of World Vision’s work and ministry to children.  Years later, here I am.  God opened the door for me at just the right time.  I have the great privilege of working with our donor’s to assist them with their sponsored children.  Every week I am so blessed to see how God is working in the lives of our sponsored children, as well as their sponsors.

James 1:27 says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”

We know that God has always had a special heart for the poor, and I have been very inspired by that verse.

Ever since I traveled on my first trip to Uganda years ago, I have had a special heart for orphans.  We had visited an orphanage for toddlers and infants, as well as a primary school that also cared for orphans, and seeing their intense desire just to be touched and loved by another person broke my heart in ways that it needed to be broken.  And I realized that I do have the ability to advocate for them and help them get matched with a loving sponsor.  That I can do!  😊

My husband Joe and I do not have children of our own, but through sponsorship God has blessed us with a big, beautiful family, and the chance to be a part of their lives.  What a blessing it has been.  Most of the children that we sponsor are orphaned.

When you sponsor a child with World Vision, you are helping to provide your child, as well as their community, with things like clean water, education, basic health, improved nutrition, and much more.  And most important of all, you have the ability to develop a relationship with your child and their family.  You can do this by sending emails, letters and even packages with fun things.  Plus, you have the ability to pray for your child and their family and show them that they are loved, by you, and by God.

Please feel free to check out the children featured on my website, or talk with me, as I have some orphaned children that I would love to tell you more about.  Thank you and God bless!
