If a child is thriving, everyone’s thriving.

That’s why sponsorship matters so much to me!  When you sponsor a child through World Vision, you're not only personally showing God’s love to a child in need, you’re also investing in a proven way to help that child and their community stand tall, free from poverty.

Here's my story...

My name is Stephanie and I have a husband named Joe, two grown up girls, three grandchildren and a rescue dog named Titus.

Before becoming a child ambassador,  I already had a passion for getting children sponsored at Woman of Faith and concerts and I did about one or two events a month for many years. A couple asked me to become a Child Ambassador at one of those events one night and I never saw them again.

As a child ambassador, my way to find sponsors for children is doing events at art shows.  Artwork helps me tell their stories before I even say a word to the people approaching the table and they usually talk to me first after they see it.  This gives me an opening to speak on behalf of the children on my table and hopefully get a sponsor.

I recently went on a vision trip to Cambodia, to see World Vision's work in the field. I was really amazed at what I saw, and what God was doing though the amazing staff there.  The children that were there dealt with a lot of trauma, and some had to deal with domestic abuse to the point that their grandparents took them in. I saw mostly grandmothers taking on these roles of raising their grandchildren. Some of them, women and men would advocate for them and open their homes to these children that seemed to be everywhere.

I can see why trafficking would be such a problem with such widespread poverty. Child protection, clean water, maternal health are some of the issues World Vision is addressing there.   I got to see first hand, World Vision's work to prevent trafficking and help the children that are victimized.  I even got to play a small part in helping one boy and one girl there, by sponsoring them.

It's a God thing,

this work,

and you can be a part of this work too.

On behalf of the poor and marginalized,

by being a child ambassador.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Proverbs 31:8-9

Hope For Honduras

Today, we also have an incredible opportunity happening right now in Honduras. For every child sponsored in Honduras this month, a very generous donor has agreed to match $250 of funds to provide clean water to five (5) children and family members in need. If you sponsor today, you can make an incredible impact in the life of a child through World Vision's child sponsorship ministry and also help communities receive the blessings of safe and sustainable clean water in Honduras.  To sponsor a child in Honduras with me, click this link here.
